Local Volunteers Hosting Events to Raise Money to Move us Closer to a World Free of MS
Join the Movement in some new ways with the latest third-party events happening in the Panhandle area. Third-party events are events which are organized and supported solely by volunteers, with the National MS Society reaping the benefits of the money raised.
First-Annual High Plains Observer BBQ Cookoff : Calling all cooking teams… and anyone who enjoys a full plate of Texas barbeque… gates open at 4pm on Saturday, March 28 at Talon Point in Dumas, Texas. Cooking teams can enter for just $100, with brisket and ribs provided. Cash and prizes are being offered for first, second and third places, thanks to First National Bank of Spearman and Dumas, Golden Spread Sales Company of Spearman, and Perryton Office Supply. There’s also a sides contest. Enter any side, salad or dessert for just $5, with a $100 winner-takes-all prize. Admission is $10 per person at the door for all-you-can-eat barbecue, with proceeds supporting Walk MS 2009 in Dumas. The event is BYOB, no glass. Third-Annual Enviro-Ag Engineering Golf Tournament: Tee off on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Comanche Trail Golf Complex. This is a four person scramble, blind draw. Entry is $60 per person and includes green fee, cart, lunch and prizes. Shotgun start time is 8:30 am. Hole sponsorships are available for $150.
