Social Media and the Utah State Chapter
With the growth of the social media area of the web comes an increased ability to communicate, educate and fundraise for MS research and programs. The Utah State Chapter works hard to keep our online clients and supporters supplied with current information. Join us on any or all of the following sites and see what the Utah State Chapter is working on and what we can do for those affected by MS.
Blogger is a web logging platform. We keep a chronological history of chapter events, society news and interesting links here. When you have time to read up on the Society’s events, this is the place to go.
Digg is a social news site. By joining and “Digging” the stories the National MS Society submits, there is the potential for millions of others to learn about current news surrounding MS.
Facebook is a social media website. Users can connect with other people they know and share updates about themselves. The Utah State Chapter of the National MS Society has two pages on this network. First, we have a non-profit page with events, photos, videos, and other society information. And secondly an individual or “person” page that is linked to the business page. We encourage everyone to become a fan of us on Facebook.
Flickr is a photo hosting site. Photos from events and team photos are kept here. Feel free to download high resolution images for print and low resolution images for your email campaigns and web pages.
Myspace is another social media webpage. Users can connect with other people they know and share updates about themselves. We encourage everyone to become a fan of us on Myspace.
Twitter is a short form blogging platform. Twitter is used to give short incremental updates. The National MS Society has three Twitter accounts. Our chapter wide account cureMSutah gives updates on events, programs, volunteer requests and any other chapter-wide information. The walkMSutah user name is for updates for Walk MS event and fundraising. The bikeMSutah user name is for Bike MS event and fundraising updates.
YouTube is a social video sharing site. The Utah State Chapter videos of events, seminars, meetings and more are found here.
