1. Blue Ridge Home Builders Association Home and Garden Show

April 10, 11, and 12 in Charlottesville at John Paul Jones Arena

The Home and Garden Show will feature a booth on Universal Design hosted by the Thomas Jefferson Planning. They are seeking volunteers from the National MS Society to help with the booth. Interested in helping out? For more information contact Trisha at bluesky1963@hotmail.com.  

2. Yoga class for people with MS in Roanoke

A six-week yoga class for people with MS will begin April 16, 2009 at 6:30 pm. The class will be held at the Health Focus Center and will be taught by Caryl Connelly. The cost for six sessions is $48. Please contact Health Focus at (540) 774-4022 for more information and to register.

The Blue Ridge Chapter has Wellness Scholarships available to help pay for the cost of these classes. These scholarships are not need based—call the chapter office at 1-800-344-4867 for more information on how to get yours today!

4.  Blue Ridge Chapter Family Days

The Blue Ridge Chapter invites you, your family, and friends to attend a baseball game and picnic. These fun family events are a great way to kick off spring.

6. MS Trial Alert: Study of Oral Cladribine Added on to Interferon Therapy Recruiting Worldwide
7. Study recruiting participants—participate online!

This online survey-based study is conducted by Chung-Yi Chiu, a PhD candidate in the Department of Rehabilitation Psychology and Special Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The team is seeking to recruit 200 adults diagnosed with MS to respond to an online survey about participants’ health actions and information on the various aspects of their disease activity, quality of life and life satisfaction.

Participation is voluntary and information gathered is anonymous and will be kept confidential.
