Self Help Groups

Financial Assistance
Multiple sclerosis not only affects an individual’s body but also can greatly impact someone’s ability to maintain employment and thus manage their expenses. The National MS Society recognizes the challenges faced by people with MS with the high cost of health care, prescriptions, equipment, and general daily living. Accessible Technology & Brain Games
Approximately 50 percent of people living with MS develop cognitive challenges, often in the areas of processing speed, working memory and complex attention. These challenges can involve difficulty in learning and remembering information; focusing, maintaining and shifting attention; and organizing, planning and problem-solving.
MyBrainGames, available for free at myMSmyWay.com, are the first online games designed specifically for people with MS under the direction of a team of leading healthcare professionals specializing in MS and cognition, as well as members of the MS community. The new resource provides a series of fun and interactive cognitive games for the MS community.
Accessible Technology can also offer customizable solutions to people with MS Berlex, Microsoft, and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society embark on landmark collaboration to help people with MS maintain their health and stay connected.

Equipment Donations
If you have medical equipment that you no longer need like wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, etc., please contact Goodwill to make arrangements to donate it to them. Click to find the nearest Goodwill Donation Center.
Equipment Needs
If you need a piece of medical equipment, please contact Goodwill. Their Medical/Adaptive Gifting Program-provides medical and adaptive equipment to older adults and persons with disabilities. A waiting list is available for equipment not in their inventory.

Inventory includes; manual and power wheelchairs, ambulatory devices, bathroom safety equip., adult briefs and underpads, hospital beds, etc. You can try out equipment prior to making your purchase; and you can receive supplies for temporary use while waiting for other equipment.
