Volunteer

Want to change the world?

Why not start by changing someone’s life?

Volunteers at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society are integral partners in our fight against MS.

At the Hampton Roads Chapter of the National MS Society, we consider volunteers and interns a fundamental part of our organization. We are committed to the ongoing development, maintenance and improvement of our volunteer and internship program.

The Chapter offers interesting and fun opportunities for individuals to use their skills and develop new skills, while helping others! Please click on the link at the bottom of the page to view our current volunteer and intern positions.

To become a volunteer and join the movement, please fill out our online volunteer application or contact Kathy Whitlock at (757) 490-9627 or kathy.whitlock@nmss.org

Office Volunteers
Volunteers are needed to support various office projects. We can use your help at our front desk answering telephones, entering important client and donor data, assisting with producing our monthly newsletter, and many other exciting jobs.

Interns
Train for a career in client services, special events, fund raising, business or public relations and gain the experience necessary to be successful in your chosen profession. Internships are available to students, young people at the start of their careers, adults switching fields, and those returning to the workforce.

Special Events Volunteers
The success of our special events relies tremendously on the volunteers involved. We need over 400 volunteers to help with walk MS, bike MS and challenge walk MS. We welcome your help with registration, rest stops, finish line and more!
