All MS Therapies now covered by Medicaid!
Recently the Washington State’s Pharmacy & Therapeutic Committee met to determine which MS therapies should be covered by the state’s Medicaid program. In the past, not all FDA approved therapies for MS have been covered. Dr. Lily Jung, a neurologist at Swedish MS Center and a Chapter staff member testified on behalf of the National MS Society for open and equal access to all the disease-modifying therapies. The Chapter was successful and all the disease-modifying therapies (Avonex®, Betaseron®, Copaxone®, Rebif®, Novantrone®, and Tysabri®) are now covered by Medicaid! This is an exciting victory as the National MS Society is committed to ensuring that everyone has equal access to the disease-modifying therapy of their choice.
