Bike Across America Reception

Biking Across America Reception on July 3

Governor Manchin and other dignitaries will join supporters for a reception for Gabriel Redding , native of St. Albans, West Virginia on July 3, 2009. Redding will be biking across America this summer to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society All America Chapter.

Redding participated in the National MS Society WV office’s Bike MS fundraising event that takes place in Lewisburg, WV annually and later decided that he wanted to bike across America. The trip will take Gabriel 43 days. Beginning June 29th in Virginia Beach, VA and ending August 10th in Seattle, WA, the 3,204 mile trip will pass through 13 different states.

"We are honored to have Gabriel riding across the America for us. The awareness and momentum he is gaining for the National MS Society from this ride will impact the 400,000 people living with MS in the United States. We wish him the best of luck during his adventure as he crosses through our 50 – state network of National MS Society chapters." states Kami Baker, Development Coordinator for the National MS Society WV office of the All America Chapter.

All of the money that Redding raises during his bike ride will go towards creating a world free of MS.

“The programs, services and financial aid that the National MS Society provides people with MS are invaluable. We consider ourselves MS navigators that address the challenges of everyone affected by MS and we mobilize resources and people for a cure,” says Christina Conley, Programs and Services Coordinator for the National MS Society WV office of the All America Chapter.

The reception for Redding will be held in Charleston on July 3rd in front of Riggleman Hall on the campus of the University of Charleston at 6 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
