Regions Bank Associates Help Local Residents on MS Society’s “Day of Service”
(Madison, Mississippi) - The Alabama-Mississippi Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society (NMSS) recently partnered with Regions Bank for "What a Difference a Day Makes: MS Service Day." On Friday, October 4 and Monday, October 7, Regions associates in Columbus, Oxford, Tupelo, & West Point, Mississippi, volunteered their time to perform various service projects at the homes of those living with mutliple sclerosis. Services provided were varied but included yard work, basic home repairs, cleaning, etc.
“All of us at Regions Bank were excited to put into action our values of giving back to our community. By partnering with the National MS Society, we were able to help those we have personal relationships with who battle this disease, and let them know they are not alone in their fight or struggle. We hope that the day of service has helped to raise MS awareness and inform those who may not be familiar with the disease,” states Regions Executive Dave Smith. Smith also holds a position on the Alabama-Mississippi MS Chapter Board of Trustees.
Beginning on October 15, all north Mississippi Regions branches will begin raising funds for the Alabama-Mississippi MS Chapter by selling paper pin-ups at various locations. “We want to be able to continue our support for the Mississippi residents battling multiple sclerosis after the Day of Service, and selling these pin-ups is another way to do that,” Smith explained on the reasoning behind the pin-ups.
To request assistance at future Alabama-Mississippi Chapter "Day of Service" programs, call the National MS Society at 1-800-344-4867 and select Option 2. A National MS society representative will be happy to take your information.
