Financial Help When you Need It

The Arizona Chapter of the National MS Society has a limited Financial Assistance Program to help people with MS who have an urgent need. We realize you are often faced with increased challenges due to medical treatments, medication costs, and at times, restricted income. We attempt to assist you with many different challenges, however, not all requests are able to be fulfilled due to limited resources and expanding needs. We will work with you to help with emergency requests, or to assist you in accessing other resources of which you may not be aware.

To be eligible for financial assistance, the individual must live in Arizona and have a confirmed diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. A physician’s note or prescription stating diagnosis must be received before assistance can begin. A financial assistance application must be completed to begin the request process. Please remember that this program operates on a first-come, first-serve basis as well as a case-by-case basis based on the severity of the need and other factors.

The Arizona Chapter requires:

  • A completed Financial Assistance application
  • Verification from your doctor of your MS diagnosis
  • Documentation from a vendor showing the cost of an item needed

Please note that the Arizona Chapter will not pay for past bills or items that have already been purchased. Part of our funding process ensures that all possible resources and options are investigated prior to using limited financial assistance funds.

Financial assistance is available in the following areas (maximum annual limits apply):

  • Durable Medical Equipment
  • Auto or Home Modifications
  • One Time Utility or Rent Emergency Payment (phone, cable, and satellite bills are NOT eligible items)
  • Short-term Respite/Home Nursing Care
  • Chore Service or Meal Delivery
  • Transportation
  • Food Assistance
