Read about others who are movig us closer to a world free of MS
Every person touched by MS has a unique and powerful story---whether you are a person living with multiple sclerosis, a family member, a friend, or a volunteer or the cause.
I am a 42 year old career woman who has become disabled due to multiple sclerosis. I was diagnosed in January of 2008 and had to resign my executive position due to the disease progression. While I consider myself very blessed to have exceptional disability insurance there are so many others in Arizona that desperately need the assistance of the programs and services made possible by funding from the Sate of Arizona. Even though my insurance is very good, that too will not always be there for me, as my COBRA insurance is expected to expire in June of 2010. In addition, I have spent the last several years helping care for my elderly disabled mother and permanently disabled brother. Without care-giving resources made available to my family, our quality of life would have been compromised. My diagnosis of MS has given me a greater awareness of the impact that chronic illness & disabilities have on the lives of Arizonans and Americans alike. I am committed to being a passionate voice on behalf of other individuals with MS and I am proud to be an MS activist.
