A little friendly competition among teams can build camaraderie and increase results. In fact, teams are the fastest growing group of fundraisers in the MS movement. The difference they are making in the lives of people with MS is nothing short of amazing. So who has the most team spirit? Who has the biggest team? And, most importantly, who will make the biggest impact to create a world free of MS? Here are the top team awards up for grabs at the 25th annual Bike MS: Express Scripts Gateway Getaway Ride. Rally your team members and strive to be awarded a team plaque.
Plaques are awarded in the following categories:
Largest Team
Team that has the most members participate and meet the minimum fundraising requirement of $250.
Top Fundraising Team
Team that raises the most money.
Team with the Highest Pledge Average
Team that has the highest fundraising average raised per team member.
#1 Rookie Team
The first year team that raises the most money.
Best Team Jersey
A picture of your team jersey, with the team name visible, will either need to be emailed to us before Bike MS or a jersey must be submitted to the Information Tent the weekend of the ride by 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 12. All jerseys will be posted on our website for all to see and the winners will be announced at the Awards Party after the event. All jerseys must include the Bike MS and the National MS Society logos.
Best Team Name
As with the jersey competition, this award will be announced at the Bike MS Awards Party.
Best Rest Stop
Get your non-cyclist “team” members involved and encourage them to volunteer at a rest stop. The best rest stop is voted on by all cyclists at the end of each day. Best Rest Stop winners will be announced at the Awards Party. Past winners have developed themed rest stops with creative decorations or refreshments.
Team Safety Award
This award will be presented to the team that has the highest percentage of team members who completed the safety certification quiz. See Page 23 for more details.
