Join our new Promo Team!

The Promo Team is the front line of Bike MS Marketing! Promo Team members will distribute Bike MS marketing materials around the city and attend community events to help us promote Bike MS. Create a buzz to increase community awareness, rider participation and volunteers! Apply today!

Qualifications:

  • Passion about Bike MS
  • Basic knowledge about Bike MS
  • Basic understanding of Excel and data entry

Training / Orientation Provided:

  • Attend training provided by MS Society – initial training in early March.
  • All marketing materials provided by MS Society – posters, rack cards, registration forms, trading cards, banner on a roll.
  • Unique wearable item for you to advertise your involvement
  • Special perks the weekend of Bike MS event
  • Differ by ride: VIP Parking, VIP tent access, Priority Start

Evaluation:

  • An open line of communication will be kept between the volunteer and their supervisors to ensure that volunteer and National MS Society objectives are met.

Time Commitment:

  • Approx. 5 to 10 hours a month
  • March to September

Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Distribute Bike MS Marketing materials and keep stocked to public locations you frequent (Goal is 30-50 per team member, and 3 distributions during season):
  • Gyms, personal trainers, spin classes
  • Bike Stores – assignments made & tracked by MS Staff to ensure coverage of all bike stores.
  • General retail locations you go to regularly (coffee shop, dry cleaners, book stores, gas station, etc.)
  • Health Food stores (GNC, Whole Foods, etc.)
  • Contact predetermined event coordinators to get a presence at local events
  • Club bike rides, weekly show-and-go rides, triathlons, etc.
  • Discuss & establish a level of presence for Bike MS: attendance with a booth/registration table, distribution of rack cards; goodie bag inclusion, windshield canvassing, and as a rider; cross-promotion of event in pre-event newsletter.
  • Attend event to spread information about and recruit for Bike MS as attendance has been established.
  • Bi-weekly update of spreadsheet on distribution and community outreach efforts.
