bike MS: Valero 2009 Alamo Ride to the River, presented by H-E-B

The Valero 2009 Alamo Ride to the River , presented by H-E-B will kick off with an Expo at our new start line, the Alamodome in San Antonio.  The Expo is the last opportunity to pick up your packet before ride day. The Expo will feature health and wellness vendors, bike shops, event sponsor booths and an opportunity for a pasta carb load!

On October 3 cyclists will embark on a new and exciting journey along country roads from San Antonio to New Braunfels. Whether you choose the 75-mile route or the 100-mile route on day one, you will enjoy the small town charm of La Vernia, Seguin and Gruene along the route on both days.

Texas Lutheran University will play host for Lunch on day one.  Then it's on to fun in the sun at the best water park on the planet, Schlitterbahn, as cyclists wind down for the day.

Attention Century Riders:  In keeping with Bike MS tradition, we have added a century loop just for you. The century ride will include a 25-mile loop along River Road from Gruene to Sattler and back.

The Gruene Gate CLOSES at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, for the optional, century, scenic River Road. NO RIDERS will be allowed to take this option after 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Be sure you finish the route before 6 p.m. Study this suggested Day 1 Timetable.

At the Overnight on Saturday join the celebration. There will be live music and a meal provided by Hooters.

On Sunday morning, enjoy a hot breakfast to get you in gear for the 60-mile ride back to San Antonio and finish inside the air conditioned Alamodome.
