“The Marilyn Hilton MS Achievement Center at UCLA is a wonderful tribute to my mom, Marilyn. Mom was at the dedication in 2001 and I know how happy she felt that day to be a part of the Achievement Center. One thing I admired about my mother was that she had a joyful spirit and gratitude for life in spite of her multiple sclerosis. Studies done at the Marilyn Hilton MS Achievement Center at UCLA show that most of the people being served feel better and are more joyful as a result of their experiences at the Center. I am sure my mother, if she were alive today, would be so pleased to know that the Center at UCLA that bears her name is bringing much needed services to others dealing with the challenges of life with MS.
“My dad, Barron Hilton, often said how difficult and demanding it can be for a person with severe MS, even if the family can afford to provide the best medical care available. And, how much more difficult it must be if you can’t afford a lot of help.”
“When someone you love is afflicted with MS it opens your heart to the suffering that others go through, so you feel it’s important to reach out and help others that are going through a similar struggle. And so – we opened our hearts.”
“I hope the Marilyn Hilton MS Achievement Center at UCLA continues to provide the same compassionate care that it has done during the last seven and a half years. We at the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation and the whole Hilton family are very proud of our unique partnership with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Southern California Chapter and UCLA.”
