Interning for National MS and being part of Walk MS has been a fruitful experience. Every time I come into the office I feel honored to dedicate my time to an organization that is deeply committed to supporting its mission to create a world free of MS.
I have been very impressed with the organizations ability to seamlessly work as a TEAM to organize, fundraise, orchestrate and create excitement for Walk MS and spread awareness about MS. I always feel like a vital and important team member that is fortunate to work with an organization that shares the same mission and passion.
As part of the volunteer committee development for Walk MS I get to actively build relationships with volunteers and work behind the scenes of an event that raises a lot of money that is crucial for MS research and education. It has been fun to meet volunteers that have been dedicated to volunteering for Walk MS year after year and it’s also been refreshing to meet new volunteers that are volunteering for the first time and up for the challenge.
For the past few months I’ve been able to network, make new connections and build rapports with people not only in the office but within the surrounding community. I am looking forward to the success of Walk MS 2009 and I truly believe that everyone’s hard-work and dedication will shine at this year’s event.
