Counseling
We can help you get the emotional support you need. We offer professionally-led telephone counseling groups with licensed therapists. For more information on this program, please contact Client Services Manager, Andrew Rose at 415-230-6678 x 73004. We can also provide you with referrals to community-based and professional counselors in your area.
Peer Counseling
Your peers can also be a great source of support and you can reach out to them through connecting with a volunteer peer counselor or a chapter affiliated self-help group.
The Chapter’s peer counseling program:
- Provides emotional support from people who know what it’s like living with MS. Peer counselors are trained to speak about the challenges of living with this disease to others with MS, to the families and friends of people with MS, and to the general public.
- Peer counselors distribute MS information and provide referrals to resources throughout our chapter territory.
- This also includes referrals to professional counselors.
- You can request peer support services through our toll-free hotline 1-800-344-4867.
