Diane Dodd was diagnosed with MS two months before her 50th birthday in 2008. On September 21-22, 2013 she represented the 12,000 people living with MS in Northern California by wearing a special jersey at Bike MS: Waves to Wine. She and other cyclists who live with MS were visible in I Ride with MS jerseys as part of a program sponsored by Genzyme to recognize those we are riding for.
2013 was Diane’s third year riding in Bike MS as part of Team 3MSketeers. Like many cyclists, she was recruited to ride by a friend who rode for her in 2010. Two years later, Diane was riding. “My favorite thing about Bike MS is the view from Mt. Tam, and the feeling of accomplishment upon reaching the top of it,” she said.
Diane doesn’t just ride to create a world free of MS; she also participates in Walk MS: Walnut Creek. “I made these two connections to feel like I was doing something towards curing MS,” said Diane.
