If you would have asked me what MS was 11 years ago, I could not have told you. It wasn’t until my husband was diagnosed as we were planning our wedding in 2001 that I heard about the strange-sounding disease, “multiple sclerosis.”
That is when my relationship with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society began. From attending a newly-diagnosed seminar, to participating in walks, to becoming an employee in 2004; the National MS Society has been a valuable source of information and support for my family.
As Director of Community Programs & Services, I have the pleasure of overseeing and developing programs to help improve the quality of life of people affected by MS. Programs like our new Family Matters program give a focused approach to addressing the needs of each family member in an effort to reduce the impact and challenges this disease may bring. I am very grateful to live in such a supportive community and to be a part of such a wonderful dedicated team that want to do something about MS now.
