This is a no-brainer. If you don’t sponsor yourself, then why would someone else support you? Giving to yourself shows people that you are committed to this cause and it also helps you to understand the process in case one of your donors has questions or needs help making a donation.
It doesn’t matter how much you give necessarily, but if a potential donor sees that you gave $25, $50, $100, etc. to your own efforts, they will be more inclined to match that amount.
Don’t make your donation anonymous – that defeats the purpose stated above!
