Support Partners Series
“Maintaining Balance”
Join us for this quarterly series designed for support partners of people with MS. Connect with other support partners, enjoy lively discussions, learn valuable information about ways to cope with challenges, and have fun and be inspired.
Providing emotional or physical support to someone with a chronic illness like MS can be deeply satisfying, but sometimes distressing and now and then simply overwhelming. The strain of balancing employment and life, child-rearing, and increased responsibilities can lead to feelings of guilt, frustration, and fear. This four part series will address the specific needs, challenges, and well-being of spouses, partners, family, and friends of those affected by MS. Support partners can be drawn more closely together by their shared concerns and collaborative efforts.
Facilitator
Amy Martin is a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing in the Fort Collins community for over a decade. Her husband has been diagnosed with MS for 16 years. He inspires her to be mindful of staying in the present moment, taking one day at a time, and moving forward despite the obstacles life brings. Amy enjoys making art, leading art therapy groups for clients and finding new ways to connect with others and give back to the community.
