2011 MS Dinner of Champions
The MS Dinner of Champions was established in 1978 by founding board members Jon Rudiger and Marc Lyons. This event honors outstanding corporate leaders who have made a difference within their own organizations and made a significant contribution to the community at large. Since the very first MS Dinner of Champions, which honored Howard Cosell, this event has continued to honor the most prominent “champions” of industry including: Bruce Tobin of Simon Property Group, Converium Reinsurance, Crystal Rock Water, Ernst & Young, GE Consumer Finance, IBM, Louis Dreyfus, Mutual of America, Pfizer, Pitney Bowes, Wood Logan Associates and Xerox Corporation.
The event also honors both local and national sports figures such as: Steve Young, Joe Namath, Frank Gifford, John Starks, Billie Jean King, Mary Lou Retton, Brad Faxon, George Foster, Bobby Murcer, Bobby Valentine and Bobby Bonilla.
Since its inception the MS Dinner of Champions has raised nearly $6 million in the fight against MS, while celebrating the courageous spirit of the thousands of men, women and children who battle MS each day, caregivers who strive to improve the quality of life for those with this devastating disease, and volunteers and donors who generously support the chapter’s efforts to find a cure for MS.
