The Connecticut Chapter Raises $66,000 At Women Against MS Luncheon

HARTFORD, Conn. – The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Connecticut Chapter hosted the 2010 NBC Connecticut Women Against MS (WAMS) Luncheon Friday, Nov. 5, at the Hartford Marriott Dowtown.

The event attracted nearly 350 guests and raised roughly $66,000 for the Connecticut Chapter. University of Connecticut women’s basketball coach Geno Auriemma and musician Kristie Salerno Kent, diagnosed with MS in 1999, spoke during the event and NBC Connecticut anchor Lisa Carberg served as mistress of ceremonies.

Funds raised by events such as the MS Taste of Hope ensure ongoing scientific research to find a cure and provide for the continuation of vital programs and services offered by the chapter to the more than 6,000 Connecticut residents affected by MS.
