Join us for a 6-week yoga class at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. This class will introduce yoga and meditation as practical tools for managing common symptoms of MS such as muscle weakness, spasticity, loss of balance, fatigue and depression. Learn breath work techniques as a means for calming the nervous system and a variety of poses to help minimize fatigue, increase strength, build stability and relieve spasticity.
Besides increase in functional abilities, yoga can also help build confidence and foster independence in daily activities. The class is appropriate for people who are ambulatory or more comfortable practicing from a seated position.
