“Several years ago I decided to include the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the National Capital Chapter in my estate plans. Having had MS for over 3 decades, I have seen firsthand the outstanding work that the Society does on so many levels. Thirty years ago I participated in a group for the newly diagnosed that was run by the local D.C. Chapter. It is not an overstatement to say that those sessions changed my outlook on my illness and gave me hope and confidence, which has helped me live a full and productive life. Over the years I have benefited directly from the Society’s outreach, education and research initiatives. This contribution, very appropriately directed to the (Sylvia) Lawry Circle, is designed to provide the same crucial support to people diagnosed with multiple sclerosis as the Chapter and Society gave me 18 years ago when I was diagnosed. Ms. Lawry was the first of the volunteers, supporters, and staff members to establish the organization that still provides information, fellowship and financial support for all of us dedicated to ending multiple sclerosis.”
