Each year, Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) hosts a community event golf tournament to benefit MS research. Throughout the year, members at local unions across the country fundraise for the MS cause and then come together at a tournament for a day of fun and raising awareness.
This year, Warren George, International President of ATU, presented the Chapter with a check for $90,000 raised through the tournament to support the Promise: 2010 research initiative. Thanks to ATU, much needed funds will be invested into highly promising research areas including: nervous system repair and protection; care and treatment for children with MS; the Sonya Slifka Longitudinal Study; and the MS lesion project.
