If you have questions about a legal issue involving MS, the chapter may be able to help by providing a legal referral.
After conducting an assessment over the phone, the chapter may direct you to some helpful community resources or make a referral to an attorney who is experienced and knowledgeable about MS and disability issues. The attorney may be able to provide a pro-bono consult.
Some examples of legal issues the chapter may be able to help with include:
- Employment Issues – Such as issues related to the Americans with Disabilities Act, job discrimination or job accommodations.
- Disability Law – Such as Social Security Disability, or private long-term disability insurance.
- Long Term Care Planning – Such as wills, medical directives or power of attorney.
- Domestic Issues – Such as divorce or custody issues.
