Volunteerism in the MS Society

User Options:

The Philosophy

Volunteers are integral partners in the fight against MS. Across the country, volunteers contribute valuable resources—time, knowledge, skills, and leadership—that infuse the organization with energy and passion. Ultimately, the effort will help end the devastating effects of MS.

The Vision

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society strives for excellence in volunteerism among the country's voluntary health agencies. The Society advocates an organization where volunteers not only work as partners at all levels but their contributions are recognized, embraced, and valued. The Society welcomes the diversity that volunteers bring to the work and is committed to providing growth and development for the people who choose to contribute their resources. Volunteer involvement can be expanded and enhanced through exemplary training programs and tools. The Society is enriched by a large network of volunteers who are excited by their work and empowered to achieve the mission of the organization, namely, to end the devastating effects of MS.

Defining the MS Volunteer

The MS volunteer is an individual who donates resources—time, knowledge, skills, and leadership—to fulfill a defined responsibility in support of the mission.

The Delaware Chapter welcomes volunteers of all abilities and interests. Volunteers are needed for events and office projects as well as for support groups and standing and ad hoc committees.
