MS Teen Expression

Living with multiple sclerosis in one's family can dominate a teenager's life. Because of their age, they may need to assume adult responsibilities such as providing direct care, taking care of younger siblings, and helping to pay the bills. Instead of hanging out with friends and going to the movies, they may be taking their mother to the doctor. Instead of joining the track team, they may have to work in order to provide additional financial support. Many teens grow frustrated, angry, and ultimately resentful. Feeling alone and isolated, they do not know where to turn for support.

MS Teen Expression is a day-long opportunity for teens with MS in their families to meet other teens from across Florida who may be facing similar challenges. Participants will enjoy team building activities, share their experiences, support each other, gain leadership experience, and learn about MS. And of course, they will also get to have fun at SeaWorld Orlando!

The 2013 MS Teen Expression is coming up on August 6 from 11am until 7pm. More details and registration info will be posted soon!
