Climb Day FAQs

User Options:

BEFORE CLIMB DAY

  • Fundraising: In addition to the registration fee, each climber must have a minimum of $75 in pledges/donations turned in on or before event day in order to climb. All pledges/donations can be turned in online, at the registration table, or mailed to the National MS Society, South Florida Chapter office: 3201 W. Commercial Blvd, Suite 127, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309.
  • Climb Day Packets: Every climber needs a CLIMB DAY PACKET!   It includes your start time, bib number and other important information. Packet Pick Up times and locations are announced via email. Be advised, Climb Day Packets must be picked-up prior to the event. No packets will be mailed.
  • Directions & parking: The BankAtlantic Center is located 1 Panther Parkway in Sunrise, FL. Directions and parking instructions are available at www.mspantherclimb.org.
  • Training manual: A full training guide is available at www.mspantherclimb.org.

 

 CLIMB DAY

  • Start time: Your official start time and corresponding race bib are included in your Climb Day Packet. Times are established by the specific climb you choose and at the discretion of the race director. You must arrive and be ready to participate during your assigned start time in order to climb.
  • Arrival time: Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes to 1 hour prior to your assigned start time. All climbers must check in at the registration table upon arrival.
  • Attire: Wear comfortable clothing, appropriate for a cardio workout. The event t-shirt provided is not required. Proper shoes are essential. Dangerous items, heavy gear and walking sticks are prohibited. All climbers must have their bibs attached to their shirt with the bib number displayed.
  • Gear check: Minimal gear check is provided at check-in. Do not bring valuables to the climb. The National MS Society is not responsible for the safety of any items left in gear check.
  • Security: All security procedures must be followed. Security will be stationed throughout the building for your safety.
  • Medical staff: Medical services will be on-site during the climb. If you need any assistance throughout your climb, any volunteer can put you in contact with medical personnel.
  • Team photos: Opportunities Team Photos will be taken at the designated photo spot inside the BankAtlantic Center. Follow the signs to Team Photos.
  • MS Banner: At the climb, take time to sign our MS banner located at the finish line. If you are climbing in honor of someone affected by multiple sclerosis, we encourage you to sign or write a personal note.

 

DURING YOUR CLIMB

  • Start line: Line monitors will help you line up in numerical bib order. You must start at your assigned start time. Start times are staggered in 15 second increments to avoid congestion.
  • Rest areas & exits: There are periodic hydration stations with drinks throughout the climb. If you cannot complete the climb, please inform a hydration station volunteer. Volunteers will assist in escorting you. Please do not exit without a volunteer escort.
  • Passing: Handrails are on the right, pass only on the left.
  • Turning around: Turning around and going down the stairs is prohibited. To exit, see a volunteer escort.

  

AFTER YOUR CLIMB

  • Celebration reception: A reception for all climbers will be provided with food and fun, followed by the Florida Panthers hockey game!
  • Guest passes: Guest passes for the celebration reception can be purchased for $25 each at registration and includes a ticket to the Florida Panthers hockey game following the event.
  • Results: A link for official results will be posted on www.mspantherclimb.org.. Please be patient as this can take several days.
  • Prizes: All donations and pledges received will count towards your individual incentive prize. Prize certificates and procedures will be issued after the climb.
