Medicare Resources & Events

In December of 2003, President Bush signed the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003 - making the broadest changes in Medicare's 38-year history. Beginning January 1, 2006, Medicare will cover prescription drugs. The resources below and the Society's Medicare Rx News provide basic information about the Medicare benefit and resources for additional assistance.


Copaxone, Avonex, Rebif and Betaseron are available on the preferred drug list (PDL) for Florida Medicaid patients without the need for prior approval. Additional information about the PDL can be found on Florida Medicaid’s website.
