In December of 2003, President Bush signed the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003 - making the broadest changes in Medicare's 38-year history. Beginning January 1, 2006, Medicare will cover prescription drugs. Copaxone, Avonex, Rebif and Betaseron are available on the preferred drug list (PDL) for Florida Medicaid patients without the need for prior approval. Additional information about the PDL can be found on Florida Medicaid’s website.
