Aquatics offer a soothing, safe way to exercise. Studies have shown there are direct benefits both physically and emotionally to individuals with MS who participate in water exercise. Water exercise offers stability and support to practice balance and gait patterns with a “soft” landing if a loss of balance occurs. Don’t forget the pool temperature, ideally it should be between 81 and 84. All Aquatic instructors that facilitate the South Florida Chapter’s Aquatic programs have been trained and certified to work with individuals with MS.
A nominal fee is charged for some classes. Limited Scholarships are available. For further information regarding these programs, please call us (954) 731-4224.
All persons with MS are invited to attend. Non-ambulatory persons are encouraged to participate but will be evaluated on an individual basis.
