Tai Chi is an ancient eastern discipline that was developed by Chinese monks as a form of self defense. There are over one hundred different forms (movements) of Tai Chi. The belief is that good health comes from the balance between positive and negative energy, that balance is the chi. Most health problems are attributed to an imbalance or blockage of chi. Unlike other physical activities, Tai Chi consist of slow movement and breathing. Benefits attributed to Tai-Chi include increased range of motion, improved balance, coordination and concentration, increased body strength and muscle tone and improved fitness and function of your heart, lungs and muscles.
