Ways to Help

It’s housekeeping time. We’d like to update our advocacy database of interested volunteers. The National MS Society believes the voices of one or many create change and new opportunities thru advocacy. We know you are an activist in your community because we hear the great things you’re already doing locally. How about joining the advocates already a part of our network? Here are some ways you might want to volunteer:

  1. Sharing your “MS story” for use of website, print, media, legislative efforts. Please email your story (with photo if possible) to Jenna.Paladino@nmss.org. Keep it 200 words or less and you will receive confirmation that she received your email.
  2. Are you willing to meet with specific elected officials and talk about your MS?
  3. Would you be willing to promote advocacy at Walk and Bike events? We need your assistance in signing people up for the Action Alert network and getting our message out there about her advocacy efforts.
  4. We are always looking for new members on our Governmental Relations Committee (GRC). It is a statewide committee comprised of volunteers like yourself and a few chapter staff working to set a priority agenda, manage legislative issues and build awareness campaigns.

If any or all of this interests you please contact Jenna.Paladino@nmss.org. We promise to train and make you feel confident in telling your story.

And make sure you stay informed with our Action Alert Network: www.nationalMSsociety.org/MSactivist
