From the Capital City to the Classic City!
Volunteers Needed
The Bike MS: Deloitte. Atlanta to Athens Ride returns again for its 3rd this year. We expect 250 cyclists to participate in this event and we need YOU to help make sure it goes off without a hitch.
We rely on volunteers like you in order to run successful events. The Bike MS: Atlanta to Athens Ride uses over 300 volunteers over the course of the weekend each year.

Thursday May 3rd (In Norcross):
Truck loading at our warehouse (Between 10am-5pm)
Friday May 4th (In Athens)
Bike Compound Set up:2:00pm-5:00pm (Athens)
Assist the site coordinator with setting up a series of wooden stands and galvanized poles that will serve as the storage area for the cyclists’ bikes overnight.
Site Set up:1:00pm-6:00pm (Athens)
Assist the site coordinator in setting up areas such as the Start Line and Finish Line by setting up supplies and equipment; i.e., tables, tents, chairs, banners, signs, etc. Moderate to heavy lifting is required.
Friday May 4th (In Atlanta)
Packet Pick up Set up- 2:00pm-3:00pm (Atlanta)
Unload the supplies from our truck and assist with setting up the t-shirt table, packet pick up tables, signage, top 100 table.
Packet Pick up Volunteers- 3:30pm-8:30pm (Atlanta)
Collect pledge sheets and distribute rider packets, t-shirts and goodie bags to participants on scheduled dates before the tour.
Site Set up:4:30pm-8:00pm (Atlanta)
Assist the site coordinator in setting up areas such as the Start Line and Finish Line by setting up supplies and equipment; i.e., tables, tents, chairs, banners, signs, etc. Moderate to heavy lifting is required.
Saturday May 5th ( In Atlanta)
Medical/First Aid Volunteer(Doctors, Nurses or EMTs)
(6 needed at break points) times vary but are between the hours of 8am and 5pm
Provide medical assistance at all official sites along the route. Volunteers must be licensed or certified professionals for this position.
Support and Gear Drivers (12 people needed) 6:00am-6:00pm
(safety volunteers that provide a lift for weary cyclists along the route. Very important and fun role)
SAG volunteers patrol the route in SAG vehicles to provide assistance to riders who need a lift forward on the route. SAGs also assist break points in delivery of supplies and serve as communication liaisons. SAG drivers must undergo motor vehicle check. We will provide the paperwork and cover the cost. You will be driving 15 passenger vans that we rent.
Motorcycle Marshal(20+ needed) 6:30am-6:00pm
Motorcycle Marshals provide motorcycle support along the route to troubleshoot problems and ensure the safety of riders. Must own motorcycle. No straight pipes, please.
Hydration: (3-4 people needed) 5:30am-9:30am
Assist with setting up the hydration area. Mixing PowerAde, adding water to the dispenser coolers and keeping them full while cyclists are there
Parking/Traffic:(6-8 people needed)5:30am-9:00am
Must be at least 16 years old. Help direct participants and volunteers as they arrive on site
Luggage Crew:(6-8 people needed)5:30am-9:00am
Help greet cyclists as they arrive and ensure proper identification is on all luggage being transported to Athens Finish area. Moderate lifting required
Saturday May 5th ( In Athens)

Bike Compound Hospitality:(2 people per shift) Times vary 12:00pm-6:00pm&
Check-in and check-out bikes, answer cyclist questions, greet cyclists and thank them. Monitor the bikes.
Fiesta Tent: (6-8 people needed) 11:30am-6:00pm
Assist with setting up the fiesta tent area. Mixing PowerAde, adding water to the dispenser coolers, monitoring food and keeping them full while cyclists are there
Shuttle Van: (1-2 people needed) 12:00pm-7:00pm
Transport cyclists to Holiday Inn Express and Hilton Garden Inn in Athens. Maintain shuttle schedule throughout the afternoon
Hotel Liaison: (2-4 people needed) 12:00pm-7:00pm
Serve as contact person at Holiday Inn Express or Hilton Garden Inn in Athens. Maintain communication with shuttle driver throughout the afternoon
Sunday May 6th(In Athens)
Shuttle Van: (1-2 people needed) 5:30am-8:30am
Transport cyclists from Holiday Inn Express and Hilton Garden Inn in Athens. Maintain shuttle schedule throughout the morning
Hotel Liaison: (2-4 people needed) 5:30am-8:30am
Serve as contact person at Holiday Inn Express or Hilton Garden Inn in Athens. Maintain communication with shuttle driver throughout the morning
Bike Compound Hospitality:(2 people per shift) 6:00am-8:30am
check-out bikes, answer cyclist questions, greet cyclists and thank them. Monitor the bikes. Assist with break down after ride starts
