Route Volunteer Opportunities:
Saturday, May 5th and Sunday, May 6th
Lunch (Sat and Sun approx 8am-4pm) 20-25 people each day
Lunch is on the route both days. Volunteers will assist in unloading the lunch truck, setting things up and serving our cyclists. Volunteers are also responsible for clean up and re-loading the truck. (Sat site is in Monroe, Sun site is in Snellville)
Medical (Saturday and Sunday) At each break point, times vary
Provide medical assistance at all official sites along the route. Volunteers must be licensed or certified professionals for this position.
Break Points (Saturday and Sunday, times vary) 10-18 people per break point
Break points are sponsored by organizations and companies that get a group of volunteers together to man the break point. The group is responsible for setting up the break point, working the break point during the ride and cleaning up after the last rider passes through.
Support And Gear Driver (Saturday and Sunday approx 6am-6pm) 10 drivers
SAG volunteers patrol the route in SAG vehicles to provide assistance to riders who need a lift forward on the route. SAGs also assist break points in delivery of supplies and serve as communication liaisons. SAG drivers must undergo motor vehicle check. We will provide the paperwork and cover the cost. You will be driving 15 passenger vans that we rent.
Motorcycle Marshal (Saturday and Sunday approx 6am-6pm) 20 marshals total
Motorcycle Marshals provide motorcycle support along the route to troubleshoot problems and ensure the safety of riders. Must own a motorcycle. No straight pipes, please.
