Cycling Guidelines

User Options:

  • The Bike MS series is, first and foremost, a fundraising event supporting research, programs and services provided by the National MS Society. For this reason, all riders are required to raise the minimum pledge of $250.
  • The minimum pledge of $250 is due prior to or at packet pickup. Riders will not be eligible to pick up their packet of rider credentials unless the required minimum has been reached.
  • Registration fee is non-refundable, non-transferable and does not apply toward the minimum pledge.
  • The minimum age to participate is 12 years of age in the calendar year of the ride.   For the Bike MS: Cox Atlanta Ride 2011, riders must be 12 by September 15, 2012. A parent or adult guardian must accompany eligible riders between the ages of 12-18 at all times.
  • All riders must submit a signed Waiver Form at a Packet Pickup to receive a rider packet. Riders between the eligible ages of 12-18 must have the Wavier Form notarized.
  • All riders must obey all state and local traffic laws and all law enforcement personnel, ride officials and volunteers.
  • Every rider must wear a bicycle helmet that complies with the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission Safety Standard.
  • Headphones, cell phones, ear buds, radios and similar audio devices used in, on or around the rider’s head or ears are not permitted while riding.
  • Equipment and accessories attached to a bicycle for transporting children and pets are not allowed. This includes, but is not limited to: bicycle trailers, Tag-along or Trail-a-bike products, and child carrier seats.
  • Riders are not allowed to transport children or animals while riding.
