For many years our fraternity brothers have been mainstays in supporting a Multiple Sclerosis fundraiser chaired by Joe Weil (’77) for the last 29 years. Joe and his committee have raised more than $7,850,000 over those years to help search for the cause of and cure for MS and alleviate the suffering of those stricken with this dreaded disease.
As many of you know, we lost our dear friend and fraternity brother, Dr. Harry Burstein (’77). Harry worked tirelessly each and every summer on this event. Harry’s nickname was “Bear” and in his memory the golf portion of the outing was named “The Bear Open.”
The event has become a ZBT reunion of sorts, and those of us who have attended appreciate seeing good friends, renewing old relationships and retelling ancient stories some of which are even true! Enclosed is a picture taken at the event last year. Many of the attendees flew in from all over the country to help support the cause, honor Harry and celebrate.
We hope that many of you will join the growing list of participants who attend this event, which is being held this year on Monday, July 12, 2010 at Northmoor Country Club, in Highland Park, Illinois. The event includes a breakfast for the early morning foursomes, buffet lunch, golf tournament, bridge tournament, Texas hold em tournament, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and a magnificent sit down dinner.
We look forward to seeing you this summer.
Cordially, Fraternally and Sincerely,
|
