Women on the Move is a nationwide fundraising event that brings exceptional women together in a social environment and provides an opportunity for women to network, entertain, and learn all while raising funds to help create a world free of multiple sclerosis, a disease that greatly affects women.
MORE THAN TWO-THIRDS OF PEOPLE DIAGNOSED WITH MS ARE WOMEN
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Illinois Chapter will host the 5th Annual Women on the Move Luncheon on Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Ritz-Carlton in downtown Chicago. This luncheon is a premiere event where Chicago area community and business leaders come together to for an afternoon to celebrate excellence, achievement, and generosity. Each year Women on the Move features highly respected keynote speakers who have truly made an impact on their fields, the City of Chicago, and the world beyond.
WHO ATTENDS WOMEN ON THE MOVE? The majority of the over 300 attendees expected this year will likely be dynamic women in their 30s, 40s and 50s who are active in their workplaces and communities and who have the potential to increase awareness and raise much needed funds for MS research and programs.
While men are always welcome at the luncheons, the event was founded by women who wanted to come together in bringing us closer to a world free of MS. MS affects women disproportionally with more than twice as many women being diagnosed, and also women often are care providers. The Women on the Move Luncheon creates an opportunity for women to empower each other to create a better future for those living with MS.
