Research

The Greater Illinois Chapter continues to be at the forefront of MS research. Over the past year, the National MS Society has invested over $40 million to support more than 325 new and ongoing research projects around the world. Research in Illinois is funded through NMSS funds as well as through the Illinois Lottery fund, which was created to disburse the net proceeds of lottery scratch off tickets sold annually.

On this website, you can find the latest news and trends in MS research, including information about how to get involved and stay informed, research studies and clinical trials taking place in your area, details about the Chapter’s two Research Symposiums, profiles of statewide researchers, links to the Society’s national research page and more.

Be Informed

Researchers are committed to finding out what causes MS and how to cure it. People living with the disease may hold the key, and without their participation MS research would come to a standstill.
