Voices: Make Your Mark By Spreading Awareness!

Spread awareness and education by telling your story. Your personal experience and example can give hope to someone living with MS, give motivation to an event participant, give a voice to our media outreach efforts, and give a face to our advocacy efforts at the local, state or national level. You may not think you have an interesting story, but simply by being part of the MS movement, you have an experience worth sharing.

Some ways you can make your voice heard are by becoming:

  • A Self Help Group Leader/Member: Self Help Groups bring people together who share a common life experience, living with MS. Members share a belief that positive personal change can happen through individual effort with the support of others.
  • An Advocate: Chapter advocacy volunteers not only affect public policy, but they also empower individuals living with MS to advocate for themselves to lead full, self-satisfying lives.
  • Walk or Bike Champion: The Champions program is one of the most important links between National MS Society event participants and people living with multiple sclerosis. The connection between Champion and participant fosters education, awareness, gratitude and, most importantly, hope. As a Bike MS or Walk MS participant, you will have the opportunity to ride or walk in honor of a person living with MS.
  • Contributing Writer: We are always looking for contributing writers for our print publications and possible feature story ideas for local newspapers. You may choose to write about personal testimonials, professional advice or even event participation. Topics are limitless.
