Date: Saturday June 2 & 3, 2012
Location: St. Catharine College - Springfield, Kentucky
Bike MS: Bike The Bluegrass 2012 will begin and end at St. Catharine College in Springfield, KY. Riders are promised an unforgettable ride, exceptional support and excitement throughout the weekend. We are excited to announce that we have partnered with St. Catharine College and Maker's Mark Distillery to provide the best Bike MS: Bike The Bluegrass experience yet!
For cyclists and all those seeking a personal challenge and a world free of MS, Bike MS is the premier fundraising cycling series in the nation. Established in 1980, the National MS Society’s Bike MS Ride is the country’s largest charity bicycling event series. Since the series began as one ride in Minnesota, cyclists have raised nearly $800 million to support MS. Nearly 100,000 people ride each year, from corporate leaders to friends and neighbors. The challenge and camaraderie created by Bike MS makes it the team-building event of choice for corporations.
Winding through the beautiful rolling hills of Kentucky, cyclists will experience bluegrass, bourbon and bicycling. Riders will begin the two-day journey at St. Catharine College just outside of historic Bardstown, KY. Cyclists will have several route options (25, 50, 75 & 100 miles) all leading back to St. Catharine College where they will then be shuttled to Maker’s Mark Distillery for private tours, dinner and a celebration. Bike MS: Bike The Bluegrass is a fully supported ride with rest stops every 10-12 miles providing cyclists rest, food and beverages. In addition, we provide support and gear vehicles, bike mechanics, medical staff and helpful volunteers.
Fundraising
Bike MS is a fundraising event. Each Bike MS cyclist must raise a minimum of $300 by the event to be able to participate in the ride. If you have not raised the minimum amount, you will be asked to sign a "Promise To Pay" the day of the event.
