Emergency Financial Assistance
MS can create a range of challenges, including financial challenges. If you have a confirmed diagnosis of MS and can demonstrate financial need, we may be able to help. The National MS Society’s Financial Assistance Program can provide information and connect you to community resources. In many cases we can provide financial support for such items and services as home and car modifications, mobility equipment, transportation, emergency assistance and more.
There is an application process to qualify for this program and financial assistance awards are limited to $500 per person annually. The Financial Assistance Program is made possible through donations made by generous supporters of the Kentucky-Southeast Indiana Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Applications for financial assistance are available by calling the NMSS Information & Resources Center at 1-800-FIGHT MS (1-800-344-4867) option 1 or you can download the cover letter and application here.
Grocery Assistance
During tough financial times, cutting grocery costs is a way to help make ends meet. Feeding America offers a low cost way to get quality, nutritious food at a reduced cost. Feeding America is not affiliated with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, but is a great resource for finding food banks in your area. If you have questions about the program, contact 1-800-771-2303 or visit their website at http://feedingamerica.org/foodbank-results.aspx.
Scholarship Program
MS shouldn’t stand in the way of an education. This is why the National MS Society's scholarship program exists — to help highly qualified students who have been diagnosed with MS or who have a parent with MS achieve their dreams of going to college.
