Honoring Gil and Roberta Santos with the MS Inspiration Award

Over 300 guests joined us at the Seaport Hotel on Wednesday, March 25 to honor Gil and Roberta Santos with the MS Inspiration award. Football Legend, Gino Cappelletti, shared touching remarks about Gil and Roberta and proved to be a very entertaining emcee. The Silent and Live Auctions raised over $15,000 and was highlighted by an ultimate Red Sox Experience. The evening was capped off with “Tales from the Booth” with Gil and Gino – a commentary about life on the road together as sports announcers. During the course of the evening, we celebrated MileStones 2009 Event Chair, Doug Bryant’s birthday.

Bike MS Ride the Vineyard Recap

On May 2, the chapter officially kicked off the Bike MS season with Ride the Vineyard. The event began on Friday evening with an Island Kick Off Welcome and packet pick up at a new venue, Mediterranean. Saturday morning, as the staff and volunteers set up, a few showers skimmed across the island. Cyclists gathered at the start line, the rain disappeared, the winds died down and it became a great day for a ride!

At the end of the day, Ride the Vineyard, hosted 640 cyclists, 100+ volunteers, and is on track to raise over $450,000. It is a great feeling to be on the island with so many dedicated people all passionate about creating a world free of MS!
