Having MS does not mean you need to stop doing the fun recreation and leisure activities that you enjoy. Participating in recreation activities relaxes and rejuvenates us and plays an important role in increasing general health and well-being. Many activities such as skiing, sailing, biking, and hiking can be adapted so that they may be enjoyed by people with various levels of ability.
The organizations listed below are pioneers in the world of accessible recreation and sports programs in our chapter area. These organizations have been provided with general information on multiple sclerosis, and in some instances have participated in an interactive training offered by the Chapter. To take advantage of their expertise and their local programs, contact the organization directly to discuss recreation opportunities and to register for programs. Reimbursements are available.
