Office Volunteer

 
As a volunteer with the National MS Society, Maine Office you get the opportunity to learn about our office operations; meet other volunteers joining the movement to cure MS; build resume skills, and have the ability set up a flexible schedule.

Job Title: On Call Office Volunteer

Job Summary: This position will support the Maine Chapter staff on a variety of projects in the office on an on-call basis.

Job Responsibilities: 

Depending on ability and interest, duties will include one or more of the following:

  • Assembling, addressing and mailing packages
  • Copying, filing and organizing
  • Calling
  • Working on the computer 

Skills, Attitude & Knowledge:
Comfortable with one or more of the following: good attention to detail; manual dexterity; interest in and ability to learn the postage machine, ability to make phone calls, working on the computer with experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet.

Training & Supervision

Staff will provide in-depth training for each particular project. Volunteers will also have designated work space including any necessary materials: computer, large working table, telephone, etc.

Time Commitment:
Six-month minimum commitment; 4 hours /month, flexible. We will give you a call at least 5 days in advance to schedule a project.
