Meet Pam… someone who can motivate and encourage others in the effort to fight MS.

My name is Pam Beaudry and I am a Power Partner for the National MS Society, Michigan Chapter. Since 1989, my husband and I have been actively involved with many chapter programs. In 1994, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and knew with knowledge, and a good support system, I too could handle this disease. After my diagnosis,  I became even more active and joined a local support group, GEMS. We made many life long friends with people who have one thing in common, MS. I eventually became the group’s facilitator, serving for over six years.

In the past to help with my difficulty walking, I used a walker, drove a motorized scooter and wore a brace on my left leg. I now have bad migraine headaches and also have had seizures, which are rare among those with MS. Many days my hands experience tremors and I am unable to do simple tasks. Many hospital stays, IV’s, pills, and therapies have helped to make me more comfortable. I give myself injections of medicine to help slow the progression of my disease. My husband, Doug, and I have together raised five sons that are healthy and have beautiful wives. I am a very happy, optimistic, and outgoing person who loves life and enjoys being social.

In 2004, my life took a big turn when I was paired up with Bosch Engineering as their Power Partner for the Bike MS Ride in Mid Michigan. Every mile they rode, with all their determination and stamina, gave both my husband and me the most incredible feeling of love and caring that we have ever experienced. I was completely overwhelmed by their warm hearts and bright spirits. Bosch asked me to return as their Power Partner in 2005 for the Bike MS Ride in Mid Michigan, and in 2006 Team Seimen’s requested that I also be their Power Partner. Now, over 60 people are riding in my name…caring, and making a difference for us all.

Even though some of the team members e-mail me and we exchange cards, it is my choice to stay connected to my new friends. It has been an amazing experience to connect with such caring people, and my heart is forever grateful to them for filling our lives with more love!

Becoming a Power Partner is a way to meet new people, connect, educate others, and give help through friendships. Won’t you join the Power Partner program today?
