The National MS Society, Michigan Chapter receives numerous inquiries each year from individuals and organizations that want to join the movement and hold their own fundraising events in support of our Mission. And for this we must say thank you!
The events that individuals and organizations create to raise awareness and funds for MS are as unique as the people we serve. From car shows to recitals, these Do It Yourself events bring diverse crowds together in support of the MS movement.
These volunteer-coordinated events are run independently from the chapter and can include golf tournaments, bake sales, wine tastings, casual dress days and more.
We encourage the development of these volunteer-coordinated events and provide some guidance and resources when needed.

Twin Lake 5K Walk / Run for Multiple Sclerosis – Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 9:00 am
The mission of the Twin Lake 5K is to raise money and awareness for MS research in Michigan while showing support for those in our community who are affected by the disease. In the past two years the event has raised over $10,000 and had over 400 participants. The event starts and finishes at the Duff Baseball Fields, Twin Lake, Michigan at 9am on Sunday, June 23rd. Premier Officials Group (POG) Clinic – June 28 & 29, 2013
Premier Officials Group is dedicated to providing education, training and helping those interested in being a basketball official. They are committed to serving the community as positive role models and meeting the needs at all levels from beginners to seasoned officials and their goal is to deliver the highest caliber of instructional expertise, packed with the ingredients of strong educational background, proven ability and a gold standard of performance. $1 of every registration for their summer clinic held in June on the campus of Macomb Community College will be donated to the National MS Society, Michigan Chapter and POG will match this donation. 1st Annual One eye Open Golf Scramble - Monday, August 12th
A great day of food, fun and golf will be had by all at the Clio country Club. Registration opens at 8:30 am with a continental breakfast. Shotgun start is at 10am. Lunch provided at the turn and awards and prizes will be immediately following golf at 3pm. Glow In the Park – Saturday, August 17th
Get your glow on and light up the night as you run a 5k. This nighttime event will be held at Camp Dearborn and participants will receive a goody bag of glow accessories and paint to adorn themselves to the height of glowy fashion. Brave the seas of foam, the rain storm of UV glow water and the dust cloud of neon powder so you glow like a champ. Once you have triumphantly reached the finish line you will be greeted by a celebratory dance party, light show and bonfire. Christopher & Company, a local event production company, is joining the fight against Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Christopher & Company, in collaboration with a dedicated group of volunteers, is planning a dinner/dance fundraiser on January 25, 2014. This evening of incredible foods, live entertainment and a silent auction will serve as our inaugural occasion benefitting the National MS Society, Michigan Chapter.
The event takes place at The Diamond Center inside The Suburban Collection, Novi, MI. Tickets are $100/person. Book includes information about Chef Bill and his personal battle with MS. Throughout the book there are facts and figures about multiple sclerosis and its effects on those living with it. The good features: seven of Chef Bill's favorite recipes and a compilation of globally diverse recipe favorites provided by family, friends, and co-workers of Chef Bill and his mother, Sharon Pikarski. The book cover is an eye catching wrap-around photo of the 2009 Chevy Camaro followed on the back cover by a 1969 yellow Camaro. Purchase included an easel bookstand for ease of use while cooking.
