What is Making Strides Against Multiple Sclerosis (MSAMS)?
MSAMS is a group of dedicated runners whose single cause is to free the world of MS forever through awareness and fundraising. The funds you raise will be honoring research, treatments, education, supporting clients and family members throughout Michigan. Most of all you will be moving us closer to a world free of MS!
How Do I Get Started as a Runner?
First thing to do is to select a running event that is ideal and convenient for you. You can join the run of your choice to raise funds for MS and help create a world free of MS!

5th 3rd River Bank Run Participants: We are proud to be a charity partner with the 35th Annual 5th 3rd River Bank Run taking place on Saturday, May 12, starting and finishing in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. If you would like to take your run to the next level by running for awareness and raising money for multiple sclerosis, then go to http://www.53riverbankrun.com to register.*
*During the registration process you can designate a personal charity for which you would like to raise money, select the National MultipleSclerosis Society from the drop down list. If you are running in a marathon other than the 5th 3rd River Bank Run or the Detroit free Press events: Click HERE to create a personal fundraising page, join a team or create a team of runners.
- Detroit Free Press Marathon Participants: The 2011 Detroit Free Press/Flagstar International Marathon was held on October 16, 2011 and hosted more than 21,000 people. We had 125 runners and 90 volunteers raising awareness and funds for multiple sclerosis. Thank you so much to all of our volunteers and runners who have helped us raise almost $15,000 so far!
