Make A Difference Day 2011
MS Service Day is a volunteer service day organized by the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society, Michigan Chapter. On this day teams of volunteers complete projects at the homes of people living with MS.
It will involve over 50 volunteers on ten different service projects to benefit people with multiple sclerosis and their families. Projects will include: yard work, moving furniture, heavy cleaning, and other home projects.
Volunteers will gather at the MS Society Michigan Chapter headquarters in Southfield and leave for project sites by 8:30 am.
This year's event will take place on Friday, August 5, 2011. Last year's pilot effort was a huge success for five families in Southeast Michigan, so this year we are doubling our efforts. All ten families must be identified by July 1, 2011.
One recipient from last year wrote, "The hard working volunteers from the MS Society made our house absolutely sparkle. Thank you for giving us this incredible gift."
We are targeting people with MS who live within ten miles of the chapter office at 21311 Civic Center Dr. in Southfield. To request an application or receive more information, please call TODAY at 1-800-344-4867. Applications must be received by June 20, 2011.
