MS clubs and groups are primarily about relationships and community. Groups vary in purpose — some groups are social in nature while others focus on providing education and information. Some emphasize camaraderie and mutual support and others value personal insight and growth. Clubs provide a forum for people with MS to come together on a regular basis to engage in and celebrate a shared hobby, activity or interest.
Some groups are targeted in their outreach toward a specific demographic or constituency, such as:
- recently diagnosed;
- spouses/partners/family members;
- people of color;
- working professionals;
- moms with young children;
- people in their 20s and 30s;
- and more.
